For Christmas, V and I went to Jacksonville to visit my family. This was V’s first time in Florida even though we’ve been together for four years. We took him to Old Town Fernandina Beach, and our hungry stomachs took us into Pablo’s Mexican Grill. [12 N 2nd St, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034]
It looks like a random hole in the wall restaurant from the outside, but when you walk in you’re welcomed with friendly people (YAY friendly people, I know, it’s a lot to ask for…), and the perfect cantina style setting without going overboard and making it tacky like a lot of Mexican restaurants do.
Right away we’re brought chips and salsa. Heaven. Not out of the can salsa either.
In V’s born-and-raised-Mexican opinion, ‘the food was awesome’. Simple as that.
